CREATING THE ORGANIZATIONS OF THE FUTURE

The power of the redarchy

Redarchy is an organizational order that arises from collaborative relationships. People connect their knowledge and initiative around a shared purpose, and their influence is born from the contribution they make.

My proposal is to combine hierarchy, which provides direction and responsibility in execution, with collaborative networks that allow opportunities to be explored, learned, and innovated. Both structures can coexist and be reinforced within the same organization.

THE DUAL ORGANIZATION

Hierarchy and redarchy: two structures that complement each other

Hierarchy: Coordinating Execution

It defines responsibilities, allocates resources and coordinates the processes that support daily activity. It provides clarity on who should decide and answer for the results.

Redarchy: Explore Collaboratively

It connects people from different areas around shared challenges. It makes it easier for knowledge to circulate, for initiatives to emerge, and for teams to experiment and learn together.

In a dual organization, the same people can participate in both structures. The connection between them allows what they learn in collaborative networks to be translated into concrete improvements, with resources, responsibilities and continuity.

A CULTURE THAT IS BUILT EVERY DAY

The Redarchy Manifesto

Redarchy implies a way of understanding relationships, leadership and the contribution of people. These ten principles express the cultural change that allows working and creating value in a network.

More confidence, less control

More purpose, less rhetoric

More collaboration, less competition

More influence, less authority

More innovation, less fear

More community, fewer borders

More transparency, less opacity

More emergency, less planning

More dialogue, less imposition

More redarchy, less hierarchy

These principles call for a rebalancing of the organization: maintaining the necessary coordination and opening up more space for initiative, connections and responses that arise from collaboration.
