“Our beliefs are the map we follow to interpret the world around us and change our reality. We depend on the mentalities we choose and shelter in our minds to invent and create the future, because in them we have installed the way we see the world.” José Cabrera – CEO Cabrera MC
In today’s business world, agility and adaptability are critical to surviving and thriving. Organizations looking to keep up in an ever-changing marketplace must transform into adaptive innovation ecosystems, driven by a culture of continuous learning at all levels. To achieve this, six key pillars are needed: adaptive ecosystems, engaged people, agile teams, leaders as social architects, culture of innovation and continuous learning. In this post, we’ll explore these six pillars of netarchy why they’re important, how to create them, and what benefits they can bring to your organization. Read on to find out!
Where to start?
The six pillars we’ve explored are critical for organizations to thrive and stay competitive in an ever-changing world. To achieve this, they must become adaptive ecosystems, foster the motivation and commitment of their team, have agile teams, leaders as social architects, a culture of innovation and promote continuous learning at all levels. If organizations succeed in developing these six pillars, they will be in a better position to adapt to market changes, innovate and achieve long-term success. Is your organization prepared to face the necessary changes?
We have worked with numerous organizations evaluating their readiness to adopt netarchy as a new model of collaborative work, based on autonomous networked teams, but we often find a lack of urgency to implement the necessary changes. However, in the context of the Covid-19 crisis and the difficult global environment, we believe there has been a significant shift in the business mood. There are many organizations that, making a virtue of necessity, have moved towards more agile work structures, allowing a greater degree of autonomy for the people closest to customers, and encouraging quick decision-making, innovation and new ways of networking. Netarchy is already a reality in many large and small companies in our country.
Now, as the world begins to move into the era of artificial intelligence, the companies that will thrive will be those with the right innovation ecosystem. The culture of innovation is like an organizational muscle. When the crisis hits, it is too late to start exercising it. Therefore, we recommend that you start by assessing where your organization stands in relation to the six pillars of netarchy:
1. To what extent does your organization encourage adaptability and flexibility in its structures and processes to respond efficiently to changes in the environment?
2. How do you promote team motivation and engagement in your organization? Are there specific practices or programs to foster an inspiring and motivating work environment?
3. To what extent are your teams agile and autonomous in making decisions and adapting quickly to changing circumstances?
4. How are leadership skills developed and nurtured in your organization? Do leaders act as social architects, fostering collaboration, trust, and effective communication?
5. How do you promote a culture of innovation in your organization? Are there mechanisms and processes in place to generate new ideas, experiment and learn from mistakes?
6. Is continuous learning encouraged and valued at all levels of the organization? Are there training and professional development programs in place to constantly improve employees’ skills and knowledge?
But evaluation alone is not enough. It is essential to take action based on the decisions made. Avoid procrastination and procrastination. Get your leadership team together and start asking the right questions to anticipate change and prepare your organization for the future. Your organization’s ability to overcome disruption and grow in adversity depends on it!
